It's hard to believe it's been a whole month of picture taking already. I decided I would end the month with a picture of myself. Now let me tell you it is not easy taking a picture of oneself in the snow. First I put the tripod up and then added the camera. Oh dear, back to the house to read the manual on setting the timer. Well by the time I got back out several men from the garage were standing around trying to figure out what I was up to. Yes, entertainment does come cheap around here, lol. Anyhow, after setting everything, I positioned my self where I was sure the camera would catch my best side. There I am in position with a frozen smile on my face when all of a sudden the camera flops right over. "Yikes" I yell, and to the glee of my audience I flew over to make sure my precious Nikon was OK. So I cleaned it off, shoved the tripod deeper into the snow, threw my audience an annoyed look and tried again. Well to make a long story short (yes, I know it's already long) various shots of my legs, top of head, half head etc ensued. Not to mention one more camera nose dive. After 72 pictures I finally got one I could use. My audience had become bored and left long before that. So here I am standing in the snow and by this time I just thought the whole process was so funny so the smile is actually genuine.

Content or Lonely?
Jan 30th
(Here is the original post. Doesn't he look lonely and cold. Snow was blowing off the barn on him but he just didn't care. He didn't even turn to look at me. I just wanted to hug him.)
It was pointed out to me that he looked content. That's certainly possible. I don't know which but I still want to hug him.

Aww, precious!
Gotta have my Kit.
Today's picture is of my "basic supplies" scrapbooking kit. It is loaded with everything I use on every project. You know scissors, glues, pens and the list goes on and on.It also spins to make it easier for finding things. Whenever I go to a crop or class this is what I grab. Weighs a ton but hey, you never know what I'm going to need.

Something New Today
My arm is still having problems so Dr. has told me to quit "USING" it. I get to type left handed only so forgive the short post. Today's picture is my first workout with the Wii My Fitness Coach.
I only did a 15 minute workout and only used one arm (weird, I know, lol) but had fun doing it. I'm going to like this.

Snowmobiles
Jan 23-25th
Jan 24th
Yet another winter picture. I was amazed how much ice built up "beyond" the roof line. I was tempted to try and break it off but I think it's way too thick.

Jan 23rd
Friday night a few of us ladies got together and had a hilarious game of Dominos. We laughed so hard. I lost the game so that makes me the "Hostess with the Mostest" LOL!

Jan 17-20
It's funny I'm not really having trouble taking the pictures everyday but getting them on my blog daily is more of a challenge than I thought it would be.
Jan 20th
I just love white Birtch trees. This one looks so majestic surrounded by snow.

Jan 19th
This is a picture of the outside wood stove filled up. It heats our house. We now also have 2 corn stoves but the wood is still used.

Jan 18th.
Sunday we spent the afternoon and evening at the pond. It reminds me of the days when I was young when outside skating and sledding were the norm. Everyone had so much fun.

Jan 17th
Donna's 81st Birthday (David's mom) The party went well but I think it tired her out.

Sun, Snow, Dog, who could ask for anthing more.
It's a beautiful sunny, cold day today. I took my camera and the dog and went for a walk around the property. The sun felt good on my face. I love the sun, I don't care if it's cold I want sun. Anyway I saw some great ice on the side of the old barn but it didn't translate well in the photos. Jackie found something interesting deep in the snow and I just couldn't resist capturing the moment.

Sunday, January 11th
I spent quite a bit of time outside today. I can't snowmobile because of my arm so me and the dog walked around in the snow. David had to work all day so I also made a card. I didn't like how it turned out at all but it had to get done. I hope I start feeling creative soon. I had a very hard time figuring out what to take a picture of. I never thought I'd find it difficult so soon. I hope that's not a sign of things to come. Anyway we were at my daughters so I took a picture of her photo grouping.

Jan 10th Another Snow Storm
Jan 5 to Jan 9 Pictures
I am finally getting to post my pictures. I have been ill and just couldn't post. So without further ado here are the pictures. They are not as good as I like but I just wanted to get the picture taken for each day.
January 9
This is a picture of the tractor David is going to refurbish.

January 8th - I looked out the window and saw this beautiful Cardinal.
My arm was so sore I could hardly hold the camera so the picture is a little blurry.

Jan 7th
This is my view from the bedroom window. I took the picture and straight back to bed.

January 6th
Came back from the Dr. with the news I have pulled a muscle in my back, neck and dislocated my shoulder. It hurts so bad. I had to get David to put the camera on the tripod as I couldn't hold it. I thought it only fitting to take a picture of the cause of my pain; THE WII!!!

Jan 5th
I'm still not feeling good so D brought me a present. I can't wait to feel better and try these.

January 4th - Being Sick Got me Thinking
I have been in bed all day today. I am finally feeling well enough to be up and take my picture. During periods of lucidity I realized that this challenge is also a great opportunity to learn more about my camera. I have the Nikon D50 and although it has many options I hardly ever shoot on anything but Auto. It will be fun figuring out how the different settings make the photos look.
Today's photo however is on Auto because there is no way my brain can function on anything else. I sure hope this cold leaves me soon. And now for my photo. This is Oscar, he has been part of our family for the past 5 years. Isn't he cute.

January 3rd
I had a rough night. Hardly any sleep at all. This morning the fever was gone and so were the aches. I am no longer living a "Pepto Bismal" commercial either. No improvement the cough. It's actually worse. I feel crappy and while contemplating what pill will make me feel better I glanced up and saw my gargoyle. He looked like I felt.

365 Photos a Year in 2009 Challenge - Jan1&2 pics
I'm doing the 365 photos a year challenge. I know taking a picture every day will be difficult at times but I'm still looking forward to the fun I'll have doing it. This challenge fits my desire to do something totally different in 2009 . I think at the end of the year I'll look back and gain some real insights into my life. I hope you will come back often to see how I'm doing. I'll post the pictures every couple of days.
January 1st
This Jackie, who is almost a year old. She loves to run with really big sticks. Jackie is not a wimpy poodle, she is more like a garage dog. We love her.

Januray 2nd
This is a photo of David, Jackie and I. This way we can look back at the end of the year to see if we changed.
You know like look "older", lose "weight", lol.
